The Insider's Guide to New Zealand

Catlins Mohua Park

-

Not phased by change or challenge, Gill and Lyndon McKenzie started their married lives farming in Southland and purchased Mohua Park in 2016 after operating a bed and breakfast in Hawea. Located south of Owaka and close to the peaceful Catlins Valley River walk, Mohua Park’s four secluded cottages are nestled amongst 8ha of QE

Trust Covenant protected native beech and podocarp forest. Each cottage is cocooned within lush bush and also has views over the Catlins Valley. Guests can self cater or breakfasts and home-cooked meals are available on site. A range of eco tours are available from the popular beach, bush and waterfalls tour to an all-day in-depth nature and natural history tour. A series of short walking tracks criss-cross the property so it’s possible to experience the peace and tranquillity of the bush and its prolific birdlife without even having to leave your home away from home.
