As the autumnal colours start to kick in and the temperature drops, Queenstown cranks up a gear up in preparation for its deserved reputation as a world-class skiing destination. The arrival of the winter changes the landscape to a white wonderland and several easily accessible ski fields in magnificent locations spring to life. It doesn't get much better than standing on top of a peak looking out at mountain ranges radiating out in all directions under huge blue skies, and feeling on top of the world. Whether a novice or a seasoned ski bunny, there's fun to be had on Queenstown's fields for all levels. The following four ski fields are within easy driving distance of Queenstown.
