Freedom Camping

Anzac Bay at the Bowentown end of Waihi Beach is a popular stop for certified selfcontained freedom campers, however, it is banned during the peak period from the third weekend in December to 10 February. There are toilet facilities and campers with a fishing line may be able to hook dinner just steps from their front door.
