The Insider's Guide to New Zealand

Notting Hill

-

Despite its size, Tīrau has always been something of a shopping destination. Once famed for antiques, the tides slowly turned and a new wave of stores found their home on the side of the highway. Notting Hill Interiors has been leading Tīrau trends since 2004, and attracts shoppers from all over the Waikato and further afield. Having four stores in a small town may seem unusual, but there are two good reasons. The first was that fitting over 14,000 items of stock was a task too immense for even the best stylist, and the second was rather out of their hands. Unfortunately, barely a week after renovating their original store in 2018, a truck took a detour and ended up precariously parked in the middle of the shop. After a tidy and a change of location, Notting Hill Interiors is now spread across two locations – one store on Main Road and another, much larger premises that fills several shops on Hillcrest Street. Every room of the home is covered and catered for in the four Notting Hill stores. Each store has a different speciality, so shoppers must wander through all locations to ensure they cover all bases – one mustn't leave a room unbrowsed. Notting Hill Interiors specialises in beautiful things with a constantly changing range of products from both local and international brands including Bianca Lorenne linen, French Country and Maileg. Tempted but not travelling? They also offer online shopping and nationwide delivery. 5 Main Road and Hillcrest Street, Tīrau. (07) 883 1777, nottinghillinteriors.co.nz
