So much time is devoted to appreciating the contents of a wine barrel, that little thought goes into the craftsmanship of the actual vessel. Pete Roberts of Wine Country Craft transforms retired barrels from Hawke's Bay vineyards into platters and cheese boards, garden planters and tables. “I loved the thought of taking what is effectively a waste product and turning it into something functional and beautiful,” says Pete.
