Founders hosts kindy’s fundraiser

-

Atwilight puppet show and night train rides at Founders Heritage Park will form part of Victory Kindergarten’s upcoming fundraiser.

The kindergarten is holding the fundraiser this Saturday from 4pm7pm.

It is the kindergarten’s big fundraiser for the year and it wants to raise money to beautify its outdoor space with murals, and build an ecogarden.

Parents Lucy Beever and Melissa Corlett say The Granary at Founders will be set up with ride-on toys and a bouncy castle, and the event will go ahead if weather is inclement.

Night train rides will kick off at 4.15pm and will be on the hour after that. There are plenty of other family friendly activities planned for those unable to attend the puppet show.

Melissa’s partner is one of the Duncans from Founders Brewery, so she is able to get the kindergarten access to the park.

Faerie-Lou, who also has a son at the kindergarten, is putting on an animated digital puppet show for the event in the Jaycee room.

Faerie-Lou says the show is a shadow movie in the form of a traditional puppet show, but had splashes of colour throughout.

She will narrate the story, and the show has a soundtrack.

Following the show her magical spell box will make its debut.

‘‘My first spell will also be revealed.’’

Faerie-Lou says it should be spectacular and she is promising it will go off with a ka-bang.

Founders Cafe will be selling family friendly food – including fish and chips, sausages and soup.

Entry to the fundraiser is by gold coin. The train rides cost $3 and the puppet show is $4 for a child and $7 for an adult.

Pre-purchasing sale at Founders, EcoMoon, Nelson Toy Library and the Victory Kindergarten.
