The Night­mares are com­ing to town, but Nel­son’s roller derby team is hop­ing for a dream home sea­son de­but.

The Sirens of Smash open their 2018 home pro­gramme with a bout against the North­land Night­mares on Satur­day at the Skate Nel­son rink in Tahu­nanui.

For the first time the Sirens also have a B team, who will clash with their north­ern equiv­a­lents the Night Furyz in the cur­tain­raiser.

Sirens head of coach­ing con­fus­ing at first but once you get the ba­sics, it’s a won­der­ful spec­ta­tor sport.’’
