Tangi for victim

The family of Sonny Rawhiti Kemp, who died after the ambulance he was being taken to hospital in crashed, are making their way to the Far North to prepare for his tangi. Mr Kemp, 66, was from Kaeo but it is understood he was at a family member’s home in Moerewa when he took ill on Tuesday morning. An ambulance was sent for and soon after it left for Bay of Islands Hospital in Kawakawa, it crashed into a power pole. It was unclear whether Mr Kemp died as a result of his condition or the crash.
