Hasselhoof’s facing first massive test

Unbeaten star up against the best but Logan unfazed by big step up in class

-

We are about to find out just how good Hasselhoof might become. The unbeaten star is down to run in Friday's $100,000 Rich Hill Mile at Ellerslie.

It will be his first start against the best and a massive rise in class from what he's destroyed to this point.

Co-trainer Donna Logan is unfazed by the step up.

‘‘This will be by far his biggest task, but I think he's ready for it,’’ she said yesterday.

‘‘I'm really happy with him, he's come out of that last race at Ellerslie in fabulous order.’’

Hasselhoof's unbeaten record as elevated him to R89, well below the 106 rating of the topweight Scapolo. Under Scapolo come Fast Dragon, Rasa Lila and Silverdale.

Hasselhoof is still a bit away from mental and physical ability, but even at this early stage the term superstar is not a stretch. He puts bums on seats where he goes.

Waikato stayer Farm Boy will carry 60kg topweight in the $200,000 Scot Thrust City Of Auckland Cup, ahead of Celebrity Miss on 59kg and Decorah and Surpass on 57.5.

The fillies which dominated in the Eight Carat Classic on Saturday have nominated for the $100,000 Mongolian Khan Royal Stakes on Friday. Capella, Cold Play, and Valley Girl are all there and so is Sofia Rosa, who fell heavily in the home straight as the favourite in Eight Carat.
