Hams falls short

Weightlifter Andrea Hams’ hopes of winning a second Games medal in a second sport came to nothing yesterday. Hams, who as Andrea Miller won bronze in the 110m hurdles at Delhi in 2010, was competing in the 69kg division. She finished sixth, putting up a 95kg snatch and a 109kg clean and jerk. Her 204kg total was 18kg behind the winner, India’s Punam Yadav.
