Stars in our eyes
It’s finally dark enough in Antarctica to get a good view of the aurora australis. Winter team leader Jonny Harrison said the skies lit up in green and pink bands on Monday night with only two weeks left until the final sunset before three long months of darkness. There is a team of 12 men and women at Scott Base keeping things ticking over and this picture was taken just outside the base looking towards Mt Erebus.
