Taxi driver faces assault count

-

A taxi driver will go to trial over allegedly indecently assaulting radio host Jay-Jay Feeney (formerly Harvey) in his cab.

Baljeet Singh, 28, appeared in the Auckland District Court yesterday and maintained his not guilty plea to one charge of indecent assault.

The West Auckland man was arrested and charged over the alleged incident with the former host of The Edge breakfast show in his taxi on October 1 last year.

He had entered a not guilty plea and elected trial by jury at an early court appearance. Yesterday before Judge Collins a trial date was set for November.

After the alleged assault, Feeney, now hosting More FM’s drive show with Jason Gunn, gave her version of the incident on Facebook. She said she was groped by Singh after leaving a bar in Ponsonby.
