Security could tag the taggers

-

A train pulls up at a station and is attacked by masked taggers. Because some passengers are annoyed by the delay they get off the train, intending to confront the taggers, and they are prevented from doing so by security officers. So are the security officers employed to defend the taggers?

An Auckland Transport spokesman insists “vandalism is totally unacceptable and is a cost to the ratepayers of Auckland”.To me what is unacceptable is employing people in a security role who watch and do nothing or perhaps simply call the police. The police, of course, would arrive too late, when the taggers had fled. Why not arm the security officers with the special sprays that are available, to tag the taggers to help track them down?
