Music review

I was dismayed to learn of the review of the Auckland University’s music department and its sweeping changes. In this review the university has forgotten the role the university and the music department plays in the community in teaching, assisting, promoting and supporting musical activity. The proposed changes will have a very negative impact. The university needs to allow the various community organisations to have a voice in any proposed changes. Dr Robert Howell, Warkworth.
