Parker purse $12m

Joseph Parker earned less than $12.5 million from his heavyweight unification title defeat to Anthony Joshua, according to promoter Eddie Hearn. The Kiwi boxer lost his WBO title after a unanimous decision loss to Joshua in Cardiff on April 1 (NZT). Joshua’s promoter Hearn took to Twitter to set the record straight after reports Parker earned around $25m. “Where an [sic] earth do you get that Parker purse from,” Hearn said to a Twitter user who quoted Parker’s reported earnings. Cut in half and it’s still too much.” Parker was yesterday ranked as the fifth best heavyweight in the world behind Deontay Wilder.
