Kiwi loses jersey

Kiwi cyclist Dion Smith has lost the King of Mountains jersey at the Tour de France. Smith failed to get in the breakaway on a hilly stage five, with Latvia’s Toms Skujins taking over ownership of the polka dot jersey. The stage was won by Peter Sagan — his second of the Tour — while Greg Van Avermaet finished seventh to hold on to the leader’s yellow jersey.
