Hawks take scalp

-

The Bay Hawks have closed in on a playoff spot in the National Basketball League after beating the Canterbury Rams 84-78. The Hawks sit in the fourth and final playoff spot with an 8-6 record, while the Rams are at 7-8 after four straight losses. The Hawks now also hold the all-important headto-head tiebreaker over the Rams in the race for fourth. A spot above the Hawks are the Southland Sharks, who moved to 11-3 following a 112-105 victory over the Taranaki Mountain Airs. The Sharks can still earn top spot if they win their final four games and the 13-2 Wellington Saints falter.
