England’s easy win

An under-strength England trounced France 44-6 in a lop-sided league match in Leigh yesterday, as coach Wayne Bennett rang the changes ahead of an eagerly-awaited series against New Zealand. The Australian mentor was without players from grand finalists Wigan and Warrington but they still proved too strong for a weak French outfit, who included seven new faces in the absence of a host of regulars.
