Belle wins on debut

The New Zealand Herald - - Super Sport / Racing -

Three-year-old filly Burgundy Belle has been earmarked for a possible tilt at black-type after her impressive debut victory in the Nulook Aluminium Maiden (1100m) at Pukekura Raceway yesterday. The daughter of Burgundy jumped away well from barrier two under in-form hoop Shafiq Rusof. She won by five and a half lengths. “She was very impressive and it’s really good to get a win for John (Galvin) and the Fortuna team,” racing manager Libby Richards said. A tilt at the Gr.3 Mongolian Khan Trophy (1200m) at Ellerslie next month, a race that Fortuna won with Melody Belle earlier this year, is one possibility.
