On Duke

If the Duke of Edinburgh can’t behave himself behind the wheel of a car he should be confined to the dungeons below Buckingham Palace.

B. Cuthbert, Army Bay.

On buses

If our feeder bus, whose driver is still frequently the only person in it, is an example of AT’s grand new bus plan, then it is not surprising they have to increase their fares. Pamela Russell, Orakei.

Just another manifestation of the idiocy of the Phil Goff-led overpaid circus. Increasing fares is the way to get more people to use public transport. Really? Pim Venecourt, Torbay.

On uniforms

All primary and secondary school uniforms should be the same. Each school could have a badge sewn on at little cost. The reason for the high cost of uniforms is that they are very small production runs. Eric Strickett, Henderson.

On heaven

The Christian Bible describes heaven as a place of undreamed of technology, continual learning and happiness (1 Cor 2-9). How Peter Lyons comes to view heaven as a place filled with “dull people” shows misinformed arrogance. Rex Lyden, Mt Roskill.

On travellers

One good thing to come out of the “bad tourist” episode is the knowledge that none of our homegrown gangs will ever dare litter again, knowing they could be approached by an irate woman who will post their miscreant deeds on social media. Doug Hannan, Mount Maunganui.
