FROM SPAIN WITH LOVE

- — Rosie Herdman

We’ve long admired the aesthetic and ethos of Barcelonian brand Paloma Wool, and as of this week it’s coming to our shores. Stocked and distributed by Wellington-based store Good as Gold, the label was founded in 2014 by designer Paloma Lanna. Identifying Paloma Wool as an artistic project rather than a traditional brand, she emphasises collaborative and photographic projects alongside its fashion offering, which consists of both timeless and statement-making pieces. Rather than working to a seasonal model, Paloma releases her collections as limited capsules, made mainly in natural fabrics, with everything produced locally. Despite this, prices aren’t astronomical. For its latest release Paloma Wool incorporates trippy tie-dyes and geometric prints and noughties-influenced details such as cowl-neck mini dresses, alongside signature knitwear and well-cut wardrobe staples.
