Flood risk clear

Swells lifted by a supermoon flooded parts of Tamaki Drive this week. Auckland Transport tweeted this image of the harbourside road at 10.20am on Tuesday. The route is having an upgrade to walking and cycling facilities as well as future-proofing against sea-level rise by being built-up half a metre in some sections. Auckland mayor Phil Goff said at the sod-turning ceremony in February the work was essential to avoid frequent road closures.
