There’s never been a better time to focus on eating well to help look after our health and wellbeing, particularly as the temperature starts to drop. And as more of us venture out i n the coming weeks, whether it ’s returning to work or expanding our bubbles, it makes sense to ensure we help our natural defences by getting rest and eating well.

My Food Bag has made this all the easier, launching a new, l i mited edition bag just for winter. My Winter Wellness Bag provides nourishing i ngredients and simple recipes to make eating well during the colder months easy.

The recipes feature a different wellness theme each week, kicking off with a focus on healing aromatics, before moving on to dishes high in Vitamin C, (week 2), zinc and selenium (week 3), prebiotics and probiotics (week 4) and Vitamin A (week 5).

The nourishing meals i n My Winter Wellness Bag are easy to prepare, yet unlike many of the stodgy dishes we often turn to i n winter, they pack a health punch. Each week’s menu contains a slowcook recipe, a healthy comfort food dish, a warming salad and a hearty soup. Choose from a ‘ serves 2’ or ‘ serves 4’ option, starting from $ 155.99 a week.

Ginger, garlic and onions are t he hero i ngredients i n week one’s focus on aromatics.

These potent sources of antioxidants, often called t he “t hree musketeers” of health, are renowned for t heir anti- bacterial and anti- i nflammatory health properties, which may help to support our i mmune system. Onions are also one of t he best sources of quercetin, a potent f lavonoid with antiviral properties.

Tantalising options on this menu i nclude Baked Salmon with Turmeric Roast Veggies and Lentils,

( i ncorporating the naturally anti- i nflammatory omega- 3 from salmon), Chicken Noodle Soup with Spiced Corn (a failsafe winter ails remedy), plus heartwarming dishes with an antioxidant kick, such as Slow- cooked Asian Pulled Pork with Kumara Mash and Garlic Greens, and Cauliflower Risotto with Garlic Mushrooms and Cashew Cream.
