Wage, benefit rise

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern yesterday said the minimum wage will increase to $20 an hour on April 1. She said 175,000 New Zealanders would receive the increase. Ardern also said benefits would increase this Thursday. Some 82,000 people would be better off after changes to abatement thresholds, which also come into force this week, she said.
