Italy advance early

Manuel Locatelli scored two goals and Italy beat Switzerland 3-0 to advance to the last 16 of football’s European Championship with a game to spare. Locatelli’s first goal came following a textbook exchange with Domenico Berardi midway through the first half in Rome, before his long and low shot shortly after the break left Switzerland goalkeeper Yann Sommer stranded. Ciro Immobile scored from range in the 89th minute. Aaron Ramsey and Connor Roberts scored in Wales’ 2-0 victory over Turkey, while Russia beat Finland 1-0.
