Giving with one hand, taking with another
In the Northern Advocate, April 20, it stated that the FNDC are considering writing off around $20 million in overdue rates on freehold land for part of their community.
The following day, Wednesday, April 21, this paper also stated the FNDC is considering a change in how they rate land, where it would appear another part of the community may suffer substantial rate increases.
On the strength of the above it would appear one is being implemented to offset the other. Perhaps the FNDC could comment a little further on this so no one gets the wrong idea.
