Northern bowlers at NZ Interclub Finals

NZ Interclub Finals are to be played this week in Christchur­ch.

Good luck to Kensington (men) and Hikurangi (women) who are representi­ng Northland. Play started yesterday with the finals due to be played at noon on Sunday.

Keep in touch with the play on the Bowls NZ website, the semifinals and finals will be shown live.

A Bowls3Five event was held against Far North representa­tive, Opononi.

This event was won by Hikurangi representi­ng Northland. They will now play against Takapuna Club from North Harbour in the area final next Wednesday, April 21.

This will be played at Orewa Bowling Club under lights from 6.30pm.

Good luck to the team representi­ng Hikurangi, Steve Mitchell, Peter Mitchell and Manu Timoti.

The next event for the Centre is the 1-5 Regional final of the Interclub Sixes.

This will be played at Hikurangi. Counties, Auckland, North Harbour and Far North centres will take part. Play starts at 9am.

Champion of Champion events have been allocated to:

May 9 — Pairs at Hikurangi;

May 23 — Fours at Kamo;

May 24 — Triples at Kensington. Men & Women at same venues.

Expression­s of interest have been called by the Centre for positions on the Board, Events Manager, and Operations Committee. These close at the end of the month.

If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact your club who have the nomination forms.

Bowls New Zealand has now issued their competitio­n dates for the 2021-22 season.

The operations committee will now hold a meeting and put together a Centre programme for next season to be presented to the Board and to clubs in due course.

The Northland Coaching Associatio­n hold their Bonus AC Fours Tournament at Kensington Club on Tuesday 20 April. Entries to Sue Wightman, please.

The entry form is in the back of the Centre handbook (page 97).
