What to pack in your bridal beauty bag

-

IT’S LIKELY your wedding day will be the most well documented day of your life. Here’s what freelance makeup artist Shirley Simpson recommends you stash in your bag or clutch to keep your makeup looking picture-perfect all day long.

Pressed powder

Shirley says your first beauty bag musthave is “an old-school powder puff and some pressed translucent setting powder”. It’ll help soak up any excess surface oil and shine, and you can press a little extra around the face for a fresh, nottoo-matte finish, Shirley explains. Viva loves this talcfree option by Aleph — Prep/Finish Powder, $69.

Foundation or concealer

Ensure your base always looks ace by toting a small pottle of foundation or a tube of concealer around with you during your photo session. “One that’s not fussy, or that you can dip your finger in and touch up flushes or any under-eye issues,” she says. Consider the new Clarins Everlasting Concealer, $50, a high-coverage concealer that’s said to be sweat-, humidity- and most importantly, tear-proof.

Cotton buds

Pack a few cotton buds to address any stray smudges of mascara or southbound eyeshadow, Shirley says. Better still, choose reusable cotton buds like the EcoFriendly Reusable Forever Ear Buds, $30, which are crafted from medical grade silicone meaning they can be used then washed time and time again.

Lipstick or lip gloss

Longwearing, preferably, as you’ll be locking lips with your beloved multiple times both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. Pack the same lipstick or lip gloss your makeup artist used while you were getting ready or consider a fresh lip hydrator like Lanolips 101 Ointment, $22.

A multi-purpose product

“Find a neutral pottle of convertible colour, one that you could use on cheeks, lips and eyes to freshen up your look without fussing around with makeup brushes,” Shirley says. Try RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek, $61, in the shade Demure, a soft pink rose with a hint of mauve that screams “blushing bride”.e that you could use on cheeks, lips and eyes to freshen up your look without fussing around with makeup brushes,” Shirley says.
