CELEBRATING Adult Learners’ Week

-

Let’s get learning Keep the fire burning Kai ana i te mātauranga

Let’s celebrate Adult Learners’ Week! Every year around half a million New Zealanders participate in learning programmes, whether it is at home, their local library or school, community centre, private training centre or university.

Around the world there are 40 countries that celebrate Adult Learners’ Week which is a UNESCO initiative. Education transforms lives and is a human right for everyone throughout their life.

Lifelong learning is fun and is for everyone. You might need to upskill for work, want to find a new hobby or simply meet new people. Learning can be vocational or recreational, depending on your wants and needs. Whatever your why, there is something available to suit you.

Do want to learn something new? Discover the opportunities in your community whether you want to improve your cooking skills, learn how to sew, join a language course, find your inner artist, take part in a fitness class, enrol in computer lessons. Take the time to do something for you!

Community Education Whangarei runs a wide range of courses at Kamo High School. Visit www.cew.ac.nz to view what’s available this term or phone 09 435 0889.

New courses are regularly introduced to keep the programme fresh and the CEW Facebook page https://www. facebook.com/CEWwhangarei gives regular updates on what’s coming up. What would you like to learn?
