WHANGĀREI CHRISTMAS PARADE: Christmas festivities start in the Cameron St Laneway at 9.30am today, with The Hits! Santa’s Grotto there from 9.30am to 10.30am, then 12pm to 2pm. The parade itself starts at 11am from Woods Rd, going down Albert St, Clyde St, Walton St then on to Cameron St to join the Laneway action.

FEELING LUCKY: Game show Lucky Dip On the Road is in town tonight. Hosted by Northland's Luke Bird and Marcia Hopa, the show will be at Tikipunga High School in Whangārei from 6pm to 9.30pm.

HELLO SAILOR: Iconic Kiwi band Hello Sailor will be at Russell Boating Club in Matauwhi Bay tonight from 7pm – 10.30pm. Since moving to Russell in 2018, ex-Hello Sailor guitar player Harry Lyon (right) has played four soldout shows at the venue and he’ll be back with the six-piece band tonight.

FAMILY FUN: Kerikeri Gypsy Fair is on at Kerikeri Domain today and tomorrow from 9am. A fun-filled day for the whole family with something for everyone and entry is free. There will be an expansive range of handmade products, market stalls, arts/crafts, food and entertainment. 5
COOKING UP A STORM: The Great Maungakaramea Bake Off and Fete is at Maungakaramea Memorial Hall today from 9.30am to 2pm. It offers some great Christmas shopping ideas and bespoke handcrafted creations that you can buy from the producer, as well as music and busking.
