Farmers lead charge

New Zealand farmers are leading the economic charge — as exports track towards record heights. But an economic expert is warning the country shouldn’t rely solely on primary exports. Export revenue from food and fibre is predicted to grow to a record-high $55 billion in the coming 12 months — up almost $3b on forecasts earlier this year. Otago University Economics lecturer Murat Ungor says our farmers do a great job, but there’s more to be done.
