Body retrieved

Police recovered a body from the water in Whangaruru after an incident unfolded in the area yesterday morning. Two other people were in stable condition in hospital as a result. Police had not at edition time disclosed what took place but said it appeared two people made it back to shore while a third person was still missing. They later said they believed the recovered body was that of the person previously unaccounted for. Police were continuing to investigate the incident.
