Trial nabs phone users

-

More than 240,000 possible driving offences were detected in a six-month trial of more powerful road safety cameras in Auckland. The data will be analysed to determine the future of the technology. AA road safety spokesman Dylan Thomsen says about 1.5 per cent of drivers were using phones. He says that means there could be up to 50,000 distracted drivers nationally.
