Rap rules the roost at Okaihau

That same day, the 9-holers had a putting competition where the winners were, Cleone Bennett 15, Rata Masters 16 and Rae Smith 18 on countback.

Interested parties were asked to be at the clubhouse by 9.15am for the draw for the Eagles match tomorrow. As well, a reminder was set for Champagne Day on June 10, with the ladies promising the entertainment, “will be worth coming for!” OKAIHAU. Recent results from the Okaihau Golf Club included those from first round of the Handicap Matchplay, held in conjunction with a stableford haggle on Sunday, May 24, with Rap Stevens 45 points (and playing to his age with his gross score of 85), Steve Henderson 43, Darrell Waiti, Mike Hewer 40, Terry Saward 37, with Alistair Newey, Peter Roux and Chris Williams all finishing with 36.

Last Sunday (May 31), a stableford haggle was played where results were, Mike Hewer 43 points, Graeme Orr 40, Denis Smith 38, Warren Gould, Norm Doidge and Steve Henderson 36, with Nigel Turner winning the Lucky Joker.
