Artists return for new exhibition

-

Eighteen students from the Hokianga/Kaikohe areas who enrolled in a Northtec applied arts programme at the Rawene campus, under the tutelage of artist and art educator Sue Daly-Hughes in February 2008, are about to join forces once again via an exhibition at Kohukohu’s Village Arts gallery.

‘Orite . . . rite . . . he rereke — All the same but different’, billed as a celebratory exhibition by the artists and their tutors, will feature paintings, mixed media, carving, jewellery, ceramics and photography.

The artists had been asked to explore, create and share a visual or conceptual component that expressed their ideas around the opposites of sameness and difference, a gallery spokesperson said.
