Tribute to Rikki on at Ahipara

The Te Rarawa rugby club at Ahipara will host the second Rikki Nathan Memorial rugby match this Saturday.

The day’s main event, a game between the Te Rarawa rugby seniors and an invitation XV, is set to kick off at 2.30pm. With the club’s first trophy of the year up for grabs, the match will provide a pre-season hit -out for a number of local players, but the focus for all is to show the love and respect for Te Rarawa’s late, much beloved son.

Like last year, it should be an amazing day of rugby and whakawhanaungatanga and various fundraising events will also be run on the day, with the proceeds going towards one of Mangonui rugby’s most heralded players, Vance Pure, who is currently unwell. Proceeds will come from a koha at the gate and raffles.
