Census ’18: Let everyone be counted

-

Important stuff would be happening at Kerikeri Retirement Village today according to spokesman Peter Heath.

Community volunteers would be there to help residents get to grips with the online census process, the aim being for a 100 per cent completion rate.

“Not only is it a legal requirement to complete a census form, it’s also important,” Mr Heath said.

“Central government funding of our district health board, among other things, is determined by census data. For everyone who does not fill in a census form, our DHB misses out on $3600 in funding every year for the next three years.

“So if you haven’t completed your census form, please do so. Check that any elderly friends or whanau are able to do so, and help them if they feel overwhelmed. And if you or they haven’t received online registration details don’t hang about — phone 0800 236-787 and they’ll sort you out.”
