Two cars, two injured

Two people were transported by ambulance to Bay of Islands Hospital after a two-car crash on State Highway 1 at Ohaeawai on Saturday.

Emergency services suspected that one car had crossed the centre line, or turned in front of the other. Both were driven by tourists, one from the US and the other from the UK.

One occupant of the northbound car, which was carrying two passengers, was taken to hospital, along with the driver of the southbound car.
