The press release accompanying the announcement noted Marsh — who takes the reigns over from Duane Fyfe — hailed from Utakura, the birthplace of the Hokianga Pioneers, and has been involved in the game of league for a very long time: “Rugby league runs through the veins of his whanau with the involvement of his father who played and coached premier rugby league in Auckland. Married with three daughters all of whom support his appointment and his passion for the game, Marsh has played and coached from grassroots to national level, and as a manager of a local community enterprise for over 15 years has gained valuable knowledge on how to run an organisation to best meet the needs of its stakeholders. With his knowledge of the local communities and people this will hugely contribute in achieving growth and support of the game across the province.”
