Felic­ity Foy is quite cor­rect in not­ing the amount be­ing spent on Kerik­eri roads, es­pe­cially when, for ex­am­ple, Okahu Road res­i­dents have been beg­ging for seal for years and Heath Road, with its tourist at­trac­tion and av­o­cado or­chards which con­trib­ute to our econ­omy re­mains un­sealed as well.

But Rod Brown’s also right. Kerik­eri traf­fic is a night­mare and it’s time the con­ges­tion was ad­dressed. The Waipapa Road round­about’s a good thing (and thanks to Shane Jones for be­ing de­ci­sive) if it doesn’t sim­ply mean that in­stead of traf­fic backed up along Waipapa Road, there’ll be tail­backs of traf­fic com­ing north
