HUMANS OF KAITAIA

-

love writing songs and playing music. At college, I won a $5000 scholarship for a song I’d written in the New Zealand Young Performers competition.

I left school soon afterwards to pursue a music career. Those funds went on my guitar and someone I recorded with. It didn’t quite work out, but it was a good learning experience. Music is still a passion for me.

Six years ago I started a business, and that was thanks hugely to the community support in both Kaitaia and Far North. The name Nudi Point is from our land in Takahue. My parents found this beautiful, secluded swimming hole, and went for a swim in the nude because they didn’t have any togs. Its beautiful energy is my place of peace, solace and working things out. I believe there is a cure and a solution for everything in a natural way, the yin and yang of the universe. Where there’s bad, there’s good, and there is a solution naturally.

What matters to me most are my family and friends. Also, my integrity as an individual, and as a human is massive to me. It’s more than happiness or joy or money. It’s peace and inner peace with yourself. Your inner peace tends to bring all that other stuff that makes everything okay. I want to succeed, and I want to leave a legacy behind . . . and as cheesy as it is, I want to make a difference in our community and in the world. I want my life to be an inspiration to others; with everything I do I want to empower and inspire and help other people.
