Hospice says thanks

Dear Far North people and communities,

Our motto for Hospice is “Living every Moment”.

That is something that we try to bring each day at Far North Community Hospice for the patients and their families. The service that Hospice provides touches not only our patients but also their families and friends.

It is a humbling experience and a privilege meeting people’s needs at the most challenging time of their lives.

I am writing on behalf of Far North Community Hospice to say a big thank you to the community and Kaitaia and surrounding business community for your kind generosity and support for the Te Houtaewa Challenge and the Great Tractor Trek. Both events were amazing, so different but refreshing. Thank you for supporting us.

We just loved seeing you dressed in gold supporting Go for Gold — Walk for life 6km walk of the Te Houtaewa Challenge. We loved seeing you chatting to the tractor drivers, the children climbing over the tractors, eating a tuatua fritter, Snow’s angels, the Shak Pack, exhausted runners and jubilation at the end of the race, and Izzie the clown chatting to all and sundry.

We are privileged to live where there is such a diversity of events that are offered here in the Far North, long may it continue.

The Far North communities and businesses have always supported us in many ways. We do rely on the generosity of the community to help us continue the care and support of those who need it.

Hospice touches many lives and families and the service we offer is free to these patients and families.
