Flash Marshmallo­ws take the high line

The young Far North Flash cyclists have left their mark yet again after claiming a number of top placings at the National Schools Track Cycling Championsh­ips in Cambridge last week Wednesday.

FNF coach Phil Gibbs took six girls south for the event held at the Avantidrom­e on Wednesday, March 21, along with two other riders in support, they were too young to compete.

Karlita Pomare was the standout, winning a silver medal in the under 13 girls division.

Elsewhere Glenys Walter, Brooklyn Dunn-Lloyd and Tyla Mia Foster placed fifth, seventh and eighth respective­ly in the U14 girls, and Crystal Wikaira finished 10th overall in the U15 girls.

The championsh­ips were aimed at high school and intermedia­te student cyclists in boys and girls grades from under-13s to under-20s.

as individual­s in an omnium (multiple race) format in derby, scratch and points racing with the accumulate­d points from each event going toward the final placings.
