Mixed fortunes for Ahipara line-ups

Ahipara Aces 12 Squash Club 4: Highlights in this match from the Far North Darts competitio­n last Wednesday included Jason Matthews claiming 13 of the 60 100-plus scores recorded on the night which included 11 140s and a Neil Travers 93HF.

Ahipara Arrows 8 RSA Pixies 9: The Pixies taking their A team west and winning the first three games before a locals fight back made it 8-all. The Pixies took out the team game for a hard fought win; standouts included Jill Andrews with a 158 high score, and Leon Matthews 74HF.

The Park 16 Mission Impossible 0: The Impossible­s arrived missing players but rallied and grabbed the willing volunteer Felecia from the Park guest list who had apparently never played darts before. Chris Bell hit a 180 and along with Jody Hunter threw 100HF while Laurence Erstich also hit 180 on a fun night out.

Tuatua 9 RSA Kauri 7: Seven-all with two games to go in this match at Whatuwhiwh­i only for Kauri Arms to win the next three games, Dobbie Rollo with a 96HF while RSA newbies Daniel Job and Ariana Popata played well and Tuatua’s Joe Joyce and Thompson Lawrence claimed nine 100-plus scores and three wins each.

Elsewhere, Houhora Chiefs 3 Mussel Rock 13 (Graham Parker hitting 16 of 70 100-plus scores on the night and a 180, along with a Denny Watling 121HF); Waipapakau­ri 16 Awanui 0 (Brian Steed 180, Awanui’s Frank Roberts and Sid Waitai scoring well); XL 14 Wannabes 2 (an inform Mike Shalders hitting 136HF and 14 100-plus scores, while Joe Tikitiki and Norm Allan won legs and scored well); Houhora Warriors 3 Collards 13 (both Derek and Isaac Ashley hitting 180s, Derek also 93HF while Allen Udjur and Pete Watson had wins and Shane Godinet scored well); and, Wild Thing 13 RSA Red 3 (180s for Jamie Hilton-Jones 2 and Ryan Wild along with a 67HF while Red’s Ava Foster, Ngaire Webb and Les Roberts had good wins).

No games tomorrow (Anzac Day), competitio­n set to resume on May 2.
