Marlins downed by All Hearts

The Houhora Marlins lost their first game of the season in the second week of the Far North Pool Association competition last Tuesday, going down 8-4 to Collards All Hearts at the local golf club.

Elsewhere, the Renegades showed no sign of slowing down in defeating the Waipap Gold 12-1, with Joe Erstich defeating Brian Bellass on a foul for the sole Gold victory; Awanui 8 Ball holding the advantage after the singles to record an 8-4 win over KA All Day; and Collards Back In Black emerging 5-7 losers — albeit with a better effort than the previous outing — versus Awaz Tigers 2.

Other results saw Collards Str8 Up and KA Rebels drew after Str8 Up team had led 5-3 after the singles, the Awaz Tigers 1 team lost 8-4 (6-2 after the singles) to the Herekino Razorbacks at Awanui Sports Complex, while the Titans were 8-4 winners over the Herekino Boar Hunters.

This Sunday sees the first FNPA tourney of 2018 being held at Waipapakauri Hotel. The Mixed Drawn Pairs will start at 10am and a $10 entry fee (lunch included), with registrations to be in with Raymond Jujnovich by 4pm this Saturday.
