A special breakfast at Taipa

-

The Professionals, Cooper’s Beach, and the Mangonui Lions Club joined forces on Sunday to serve their annual Child Cancer breakfast at the Ramada Resort Taipa. More than 220 people enjoyed a very filling start to their day, contributing to the raising of $5450.

Cooper’s Beach office manager Julie Scott said Professionals Real Estate Group had been supporting the Child Cancer Foundation since 1994, raising more than $4.6 million, and was proud to be supporting the foundation’s 2018 sibling and family camps.

“These camps are a very important part of the practical support provided by the foundation to the families and siblings of children with cancer,” she said.

“Professionals’ fundraising effort has contributed to the purchase of two holiday homes, which provide muchneeded time out for families, as well as the National Support Office for the Child Cancer Foundation in Auckland. We are proud to be supporting the Child Cancer Foundation in its work with children with cancer and their families.

“Every week at least three Kiwi kids are diagnosed with cancer. We recognise that child cancer affects the whole family — brothers, sisters, Mum, Dad and whanau. Right now the Child Cancer Foundation is supporting more than 1700 families across New Zealand.

“Every family’s experience is different, and so is the support they receive. The foundation receives no direct government funding, so relies on the generosity of New Zealanders.

“Many thanks to the supporters on Sunday, and all the local businesses that gifted to the incredible raffle prizes.”
