Time for business excellence entries

-

Entries for the 2018 Westpac Northland Business Excellence Awards have opened. Entry is free, and is open to all whether or not they are members of the Chamber of Commerce.

And there were significant benefits to entering according to Northland Chamber CEO Tony Collins.

“We are looking forward to meeting the 2018 entrants as we support them through the entry process and encourage them on their journey of business excellence,” he said.

“The awards are a fantastic tool to help business owners identify their strengths and weaknesses, while developing their business model for future opportunities. It’s all about celebrating business success in Northland.”

The entry process offered a number of opportunities for businesses to raise their profile and inspire their employees.

“We enjoy seeing the entrants come together at the various networking opportunities and share their successes and ideas. There are many benefits for entrants and category winners, who will receive a marketing and media package valued at more than $2500 to promote their win and add value back into the business,” Mr Collins said.

Entrants were grouped and measured against businesses of a similar scale using a modified version of the Baldridge System, an approach that ensured there was a category to suit businesses of all sizes. Enterprises from the not-for-profit, innovation and creative industries would also be celebrated.

Entrants would be encouraged to attend a free awards workshop, or arrange a oneon-one meeting at their premises, to gain insight, tips on how to prepare their entry and to learn about what the judges would be looking for, with ongoing support and advice available from the chamber throughout the entry process.

“The awards have celebrated winners from all over the region and from a range of sectors over the last 40 years,” Mr Collins added.

“We are always left inspired by the passion business owners express as they share their stories of doing business in Northland.

“If your business would benefit from entering the awards, please visit co.nz) or contact NZ Chambers of Commerce Northland on (09) 438-4771 to start the 2018 Westpac Northland Business Excellence Awards journey.”

Entries close on July 31.
