Home advantage pays dividends for Marlins

The Houhora Marlins made home advantage count in defeating Awanui 8 Ball Pool team 7-5 (5-3 after the singles) at the Houhora Golf Club in week 14/22 of the Far North Pool Association championships last Tuesday evening.

Elsewhere, the Titans were brought rudely back down to earth following their week 13 win with a 7-5 (5-3) loss to Collards Str8 Up who played some of their best pool of the season.

In other results Awaz Tigers One produced their fourth win of the year in defeating Collards All Hearts 7-5 (4-4); the Boarhunters and Awaz Tigers Two draw 6-all at Collards where, after being all tied up after the singles, the two teams remained inseparable to the bitter end; the KA Renegades pushing hard on the night to emerge 8-4 winners at home turf — Kauri Arms — over the Herekino Razorbacks; while the Rebels turned the heat up on Waipap Gold team, winning 10-2 (8-0) in a clash featuring several great games albeit just not going Gold’s way on the night.
