FROM PAGE 6 therefore to reverse their suicidal policies. Their ‘remedy’ is to apply still more of the same.

Our whole Western world, already almost in ruins, is headed for collapse, chaos and anarchy unless it does a real U-turn to its former Judaeo-Christian standards. However, it’s likely that we who prophesy this will be just like Cassandra in Troy: though our prophecies are true, they will be disbelieved until they have actually and disastrously happened. Miramar Due to our receiving a formal warning from the national president of Grey Power NZ Federation Inc., until the issue is sorted, we will not be writing letters seeking re-legalisation of cannabis under our group’s name. However, please be assured that when we write letters under our names, it has the support of our group.

We also have heard from members around the country who support our stance and appreciate our efforts in debunking the reefer madness propaganda.

Our group passionately believes that it is most important that the truth about the efficacy of this miracle herb be available and known to New Zealanders. We believe it is also important to have access to the plant, organically grown, for health benefits. Therefore, when we have new information, we will continue to let readers know.

The latest country to decriminalise cannabis is South Africa. We question why other countries have the intellect to understand, and take the time to read the evidence of the benefits of cannabis for their people, yet those in various power positions here still want to ban the plant and give the monopoly to pharmaceutical companies of a cannabis extract, supplied at $1000-plus per month.

This forces New Zealanders to access their cannabis from the black market. Dangerous products are sold on the black market as ‘synthetic cannabis’. In the past year it has killed almost 50 New Zealanders. However, a further 20- plus are reported to have died in the last few weeks.

We understand that this synthetic drug is sometimes vegetation-laced with products such as Fentanyl.

Prohibition has not worked since its inception in the 1960s. It did not work for alcohol in the US, and has not worked worldwide for cannabis. Desperate people use or grow cannabis for health benefits for themselves or their loved ones, despite the threat of incarceration. It is estimated that 180,000 New Zealanders use cannabis for health benefits.

In the words of Einstein: “You can’t keep doing the same thing over and over, and expect a different result”. Prohibition defies common sense. Free the plant.

At the moment I see a lot of abuse flyers around, but hey, I ask, what is abuse?

To me abuse covers many issues, e.g elder, child, domestic, rape, murder, depriving, homelessness, poor education, hospital waiting lists, innocent children suffering when separated by parent imprisonment. Yes folks, abuse comes in
