The Herekino Razorbacks put up a gallant fight against Collards Str8 Up in one of the matches played in the penultimat­e round (week 25/26) of the Far North Pool Associatio­n winter championsh­ips last Tuesday night, only to eventually go down 7-5 after leading the singles 5-2.

Elsewhere, the Herekino Boarhunter­s drew with All Hearts 6-6 (4-4 after the singles), Waipap Gold were thumped by a determined Awanui 8 Ball unit 10-2 (6-2), Awanui Titans emerged 7-5 winners over KA All Day (5-3), Awaz Tigers One and Two drew 6-all as predicted by local commentato­r Sharpshoot­er, while the Marlins triumphed 9-3 over KA Rebels at Houhora.

Standings: Titans 197 points, Renegades 185, Awanui 8 Ball 171, Collards Str8 Up 164, Marlins, Razorbacks 152, Rebels 151, All Day, All Hearts 133, Tigers One, Tigers Two 124, Waipap Gold 112, Boarhunter­s 107.

Tonight brings the last matches in the regular season, with Sharpshoot­er noting some of the division spots were still up for grabs for the playoffs. He added there were a several must-win games with plenty of interest over the results by All Hearts and All Day respective­ly.
